3D printing revolution

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

In the (not so distant) future, 3D printers will produce objects and parts for us in our businesses and homes. People won’t have to buy a part from a retailer, or distributor, that was stored in a warehouse and shipped; they’ll just download the file and print it. They will be able to print parts from a variety of materials – plastic at first, but eventually ceramics, metals and concrete.

Far fetched? Not long ago, so was having a device that does all the things smart phones do – right in your pocket.

How will this affect your business? Pay attention, lest one of these innovations comes along and knocks you out!

Your message today is important for everyone from the new hire to the boss.
I just missed the automobile doing away with the buggy whip business.
I was there when talented low wage foreign people took our manufacturing of carpets, clothes and candy.
The idea of ‘just in-time delivery’ ended new warehousing and the fork lift industry.
New natural gas pipelines suddenly opened a need to find more gas customers.
Mail, TV and phone marketing effectiveness plummeted for the unwary as the internet developed.
Controlling your internet presentation is very important, just now . . .
Things change.
