The Discipline to Live on Less Than You Earn

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

To become financially secure, or to get to a point where you are not living check to check, you must live on less than you earn. Save 10% or more of what you earn. It wil begin to feel good knowing you have something saved. Eventually you’ll have enough to invest in something to make those savings grow. (Don’t lose the money in foolish “too-good-to-be-true” investments!)

Saving takes self-discipline. The same discipline to put coins and a few bucks in a jar when you don’t make a lot is the same discipline it takes to save chunks of money and manage investments when you make or have more.

If you continually spend all you get (which many do no matter how much they make), you can never get ahead.

Thanks for your pearls of wisdom each weekday Larry. I particularly like today’s other message regarding great leaders being kind but NOT weak…

Your Grandfather Ted would have loved this thought. Maybe you inherited some of his DNA!
Stay well.
