"Building" a business

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

Do you feel like your business is the same as it was last year?

“Building” a business means you are making progress in creating something better and/or bigger; different than it was last year or last month.  Something that delivers more value to customers, or delivers that value to more customers.

What are you working on today, that will make tomorrow and the days after that better?

What are you “building?”

John LeVan

It seems like this business building process is not a linear project. We build, things happen in a manner that is different than our vision, we clean up the mess and build again. Some of the good stuff we work on flops in a major way, so we try again.

One of the most important lessons I have learned through the Network is that we are not alone in this process, and that it is OK to be bad at something before you get better.

When you look backwards over longer time periods, it is amazing to see team members doing things they could not do before, customers getting value that they are amazed at and other improvements that have worked and taken root. For that brief moment that you see these improvements it feels pretty good! Thanks to all my teammates at Comfenergy for living the struggle to build for tomorrow!
