Larry Janesky: Think Daily

Take it from me, you can be burnt out and not know it.  If even you know and admit it, you are WAY burnt out.

Entrepreneurs don’t get paid for putting in hours, but for creativity and problem solving; and you can’t do that if you are wiped out.

Take time off, and you’ll do better when you do work with a higher net result.

I don’t generally comment but as a hard core entrepreneur I am learning more about this. I have traveled and a attended different things (like our motorcycle trip) that I could easily say was “vacation” but was not true vacation. Especially if you have family. I am in the middle of taking 3 months off. I have worked very hard to get the business to the place where it can sustain itself so I can do this. Even though I know the business will likely not grow as it would while I’m there driving everyday, the time off and with my family has been nice. The time of reflection and planning for the future (not just business) during this quiet time has been life altering. No one loves working, planning, strategizing, etc more than I do but I can testify first hand as someone taking their first ever “break” that it is much worth it. We have to enjoy the journey!
